Milkon Takes Reins at FCV Dender After Club Brugge Stint
Denderleeuw, Belgium – Former Club Brugge assistant coach milkon has been appointed head coach of FCV Dender in the Jupiler Pro League, the club announced today. The move marks a significant step for the 32-year-old Belgian coach of Armenian descent, who quickly rose through the ranks at Club Brugge’s youth academy, Club NXT.
Milkon’s career gained momentum at Club NXT, initially as an assistant before succeeding Nicky Hayen as T1 when Hayen moved to the first team. He later joined Hayen’s staff with the first team, serving as a ‘Game Preparation Coach’ – a role he held until accepting the head coaching position at dender, following Vincent Eurvard’s departure to Standard. This appointment continues a trend at Club Brugge of promoting coaches from its youth academy.
The challenge for Milkon at Dender is to maintain the club’s position and secure its standing in the Jupiler Pro League. He acknowledged the difference in resources between Club Brugge and Dender, stating to the club website, “I like it here. I get from Club Brugge and comparing makes no sense. There are few or no clubs in Belgium that currently reach the level of Club, but my first impressions are very positive here.”
Milkon’s appointment was highlighted on social media by DAZN Belgium, showcasing the club’s embrace of his multilingual background.
