Miley⁤ Cyrus Releases Song Reflecting⁣ on Family Dynamics, Dedicates ⁤’Secrets‘ ⁤to Billy ‍Ray Cyrus

LOS ANGELES, CA ‍ – Miley Cyrus has released a new song, “Secrets,” which she says is⁤ a direct reflection of her evolving relationship with her parents, Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus, following ‍their divorce⁣ and subsequent remarriages. The track, part of her Somthing Gorgeous‍ Deluxe album released this ⁣month,‍ marks a turning point in how ⁤Cyrus views her⁤ parents – shifting from a child’s outlook⁤ to an adult understanding of their individual happiness.

Cyrus ⁣explained that for a long time, she internalized her‍ mother’s pain during her marriage to Billy Ray, especially given the challenges of being married to someone in the music industry while not ⁣being ⁢involved in it herself. “I took on some of my mom’s hurt as⁤ my own as it ⁢hurt⁢ her more⁢ than it⁤ hurt me as an adult, and ⁢so I owned a lot of her pain,” she ⁢said.Though, witnessing both her mother’s marriage to Dominic Purcell and her father’s relationship with Elizabeth Hurley allowed her to reframe her perspective.

“But now that my‍ mom is so in love with my stepdad, who I completely adore, and now that my dad, I see‍ him finding⁤ happiness, too – I⁣ can love them both as individuals rather of as a parental pairing,” Cyrus ⁤added. She emphasized the importance of allowing her parents to⁢ find ⁣their own bliss, acknowledging that it took time for ⁤her “child‌ self” ‍to catch up with that understanding.⁤

The‍ singer described the process ⁢as “being an adult about it,” and ⁣recognizing that her father, like everyone else, “deserves to ⁢be in his bliss and to ‌be happy.”‍ “Secrets” ⁤is included ‌on ⁤the‌ Something Beautiful Deluxe edition,‍ an ⁤expanded version of her album originally released in May.
