Pop star Miley Cyrus is engaged to musician Maxx morando, revealing a new ring and confirming a four-year relationship. The announcement comes as Cyrus enjoys continued success with her ninth album and a featured song in the latest Avatar film, while also openly discussing her decision to prioritize mental health and sobriety over touring.
Cyrus, known for hits like “Flowers” and “Party in the U.S.A,” was previously married to actor Liam Hemsworth for less than a year, following a decade-long on-again, off-again relationship that ended in divorce in 2019. This engagement marks a new chapter for the singer, signaling a commitment to a partner who supports her personal growth and well-being. The couple’s future plans remain undisclosed, but the engagement suggests a deepening of their bond after meeting on a blind date in 2023.
Morando is a drummer for the Los Angeles-based band Liily, which performed on Cyrus’s 2022 New Year’s Eve special alongside Dolly Parton and David Byrne. Cyrus showcased the ring on Good morning America, stating Morando “did good” with the selection.
“Me and Max have been together for four years and it’s vrey obvious the drastic amount of growth that I’ve had in those four years,” Cyrus shared. “You want to have someone by your side that always tells you you can do it.”
Despite releasing her ninth album earlier this year and contributing “Dream as One” to the Avatar soundtrack, Cyrus has expressed a lack of interest in touring, citing the challenges of maintaining her sobriety and mental health on the road.
