Mild February Weather: Above Average Temps Through Weekend

February 15, 2026 Priya Shah – Business Editor Business

Stuttgart, Germany is experiencing unseasonably warm temperatures in mid-February 2026, with highs reaching 12°C (54°F) on February 7th, according to data from AccuWeather. This trend continues through the weekend, with temperatures expected to remain 4-5 degrees Celsius above the average high of 39 degrees Fahrenheit for this time of year.

The warmth is a notable departure from typical February conditions in the region, where average high temperatures usually hover around 1°C (34°F). The AccuWeather forecast indicates highs of 5°C (-1°C) on February 1st, rising to 11°C (5°C) on February 11th, before peaking at 12°C (2°C) on February 7th. Icy surfaces remain a concern, with warnings issued for potential hazardous conditions.

While Stuttgart experiences this localized warmth, other parts of Europe offer significantly warmer climates. According to Trafalgar Tours, southern Spain, particularly Andalusia, boasts average February temperatures ranging from 10°C (50°F) to 18°C (64°F). Cities like Malaga and Seville are highlighted as attractive destinations for those seeking sunshine without the peak-season crowds. Sicily, Italy, is also cited as a warm destination in February.

Globally, several destinations are experiencing high temperatures in February. The Met Office reports that Phuket, Thailand, currently has an average temperature of 33.1°C (91.6°F), followed by Cancun, Mexico, at 32.3°C (90.1°F), and Singapore at 31.6°C (88.9°F). Other warm destinations include Barbados (29.2°C / 84.6°F), the Dominican Republic (28.9°C / 84°F), and Cape Town, South Africa (27.3°C / 81.1°F). The Gambia is currently the hottest holiday destination, with temperatures reaching 34°C (93.2°F).

The 101 Holidays report, dated January 22, 2026, indicates that the demand for warm-weather destinations is high, with travelers seeking alternatives to winter conditions. The report notes that prices for travel and accommodation are generally lower in February compared to peak season.

Further ahead, the AccuWeather forecast for March 2026 remains unavailable as of February 15, 2026.
