Milan vs Parma 0-1: Serie A Highlights & Goals | Sky TG24 Sport Video

Mariano Troilo scored a late header to offer Parma a shock 1-0 victory over AC Milan at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday, dealing a significant blow to the Rossoneri’s Serie A title aspirations.

The goal, initially disallowed for a suspected foul on Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, was overturned following a VAR review, with referee Marco Piccinini determining that Lautaro Valenti’s challenge did not impede the keeper. The win for Parma came despite a challenging evening for the visitors, and a dominant performance from Milan for much of the match.

Milan assistant manager Marco Landucci, standing in for the suspended Massimiliano Allegri, attributed the defeat to a series of unfortunate events. “I think Serie A is the most difficult league in the world, given that it is so very balanced, and every game has hidden dangers,” Landucci told Sky Sport Italia. He highlighted injuries to Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Gabbia as disruptive to the team’s plans. Loftus-Cheek was forced off in the 11th minute following a collision with Edoardo Corvi.

Despite Milan’s dominance in possession and a 24-match unbeaten run in Serie A entering the contest, they struggled to convert chances. Rafael Leao hit the post, and Christian Pulisic had a shot cleared off the line by Troilo earlier in the match. Milan also failed to score for only the second time this season, and the first time at home since April 2025.

The result leaves Milan 10 points behind Serie A leaders Inter, marking their first league defeat since the opening day of the season against Cremonese. Parma’s victory, secured by Troilo’s 80th-minute goal, provides a boost to their own league standing, though they remain in a mid-table position.

According to data analysis, Milan recorded 25 shots with a combined expected goals (xG) value of 1.33, but were unable to find the back of the net. Parma, in contrast, managed nine attempts with an xG of 0.46, capitalizing on their single clear opportunity.
