Boca Juniors Coach Miguel Ángel Russo Dies at 69 After Battle with Cancer
Buenos Aires – Miguel Ángel Russo, former coach of Boca Juniors, has died at the age of 69 after a battle with bladder cancer, according to reports. Russo, a prominent figure in Argentine football, also previously battled prostate cancer.
Prostate cancer is a common malignancy affecting the male reproductive system, and can metastasize to other organs, bones, or lymph nodes in advanced stages. Early symptoms can be subtle, but may include difficulty urinating,a weaker urine flow, frequent urination (especially at night),pain or burning during urination, and blood in urine or semen. Advanced stages can present with pelvic or lower back pain, fatigue, and unexplained weight loss. Doctors recommend a healthy lifestyle and regular preventative exams for early detection, as treatment is most effective in the initial stages.
In addition to prostate cancer, Russo was diagnosed with bladder cancer, which originates in the cells lining the bladder – the organ responsible for urine storage. Symptoms of bladder cancer are often more noticeable and include blood in the urine, frequent urination, pain or burning during urination, and pain in the lower back or pelvic area. Risk factors for bladder cancer include smoking, environmental exposures, age, and bladder irritants like urinary tract infections or kidney stones. Early consultation with a healthcare professional is crucial for timely diagnosis and treatment.
