Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 VR Support Revives PSVR2 Interest
Microsoft has announced that its forthcoming Flight Simulator 2024 will support PlayStation VR2 on the PlayStation 5, launching later this year. The integration will extend to the entirety of the game, encompassing all aircraft – from the smallest single-engine planes to the largest commercial airliners – and mission types, with full controller and input device integration.
The news, initially reported in Spanish, marks a significant development for the PS VR2, which has seen limited exclusive titles since its launch. Microsoft detailed the support in a blog post, stating that Flight Simulator 2024 “aims to offer a greater level of authenticity in simulated flight for both enthusiasts and newcomers alike,” with its library of 125 different aircraft, many of which will offer a unique experience in VR.
According to reports from UploadVR and TwistedVoxel, the PS VR2 mode has been described as “incredibly impressive.” Simulation Daily notes that the announcement included the first gameplay details and specifics regarding the VR support on PS5. Gamereactor UK described the experience as “wild.”
The compatibility update is expected to launch later this year, bringing a fully immersive experience to the flight simulation title on Sony’s platform.
