Singapore⁤ – The ⁢Marina ‌Bay Street Circuit is set to host a dramatic ⁤qualifying session for the Singapore Grand Prix,with ⁣drivers pushing the limits under the challenging night race conditions.This comes ‌as former Haas‍ driver Mick Schumacher prepares for an IndyCar test,‌ a move lauded by his ex-team principal ‍Günther Steiner as⁣ a smart career step.

Steiner‍ believes Schumacher is approaching his post-Formula 1 ⁣options strategically. “I think he’s doing it right,” Steiner ‍told sport.de. “He takes a test with a midfield team‍ and then he sees what comes out.” The German‍ driver’s upcoming test in⁢ Indianapolis⁤ signals a potential shift ⁣towards IndyCar,‍ a⁤ series Steiner believes⁣ Schumacher ​is capable of excelling in. “He can certainly drive Indycar, that’s not a problem for him,” Steiner affirmed,‌ while cautioning that success ⁤requires the right fit‍ and a⁣ long-term commitment.

The former Haas boss highlighted the unique challenges of IndyCar, ‌specifically the oval tracks. “He is never an ‌oval danger and ovals are part of the IndyCar championship and you have ⁢to look forward⁢ to being strong,” Steiner explained. He ‌emphasized the‌ need for a sustained effort, stating, “If he ‌goes in at Indycar, he ​has to plan that he stays there ⁤for at least three ​to five years to be accomplished. There are very good drivers. You also have to work up to‌ the good teams.”

Steiner‍ also​ expressed skepticism about a potential return to Formula 1 after a stint in IndyCar.”To make Indycar for two years and then to‌ get into Formula 1, I think is arduous,” he stated, suggesting a longer-term focus ⁣is crucial for Schumacher’s career ​trajectory.
