Michał Probierz‘s Kazakhstan Deal⁤ Stalls Amidst Media ‍Frenzy

Astana,Kazakhstan – October 9,2024 – Negotiations between Polish football manager Michał Probierz and the Kazakhstan Football Federation have hit a snag, reportedly due to⁣ extensive media coverage. Initial reports suggesting a near-agreement have been tempered by indications of a standstill, potentially jeopardizing the appointment of a new ‍national team coach.

The situation arose following Kazakhstan’s parting with former manager Stanislav Cherchesov earlier in 2024, ⁣with Tałgart Baysufinov currently⁣ serving as interim head coach. The federation subsequently identified Probierz as a leading candidate, alongside names like Massimo Carrera and Janne Andersson, seeking to bring in foreign expertise to bolster the national team’s performance in the 2026 FIFA ‌World Cup qualifying campaign. Though, premature announcements‍ have complicated the process.

“It looked promising, but⁤ there’s silence now, ‍and apparently some⁣ media disruption,” stated Tomasz Wołosik during the Ofensywni podcast. “The Kazakhs initially announced Probierz as a candidate, then⁤ Polish ⁤media reported the ⁣deal was done. This media mill is harming the cause, as they say – transfers prefer quiet.”

Kazakhstan currently ‌occupies fourth⁤ place⁢ in its World Cup qualifying group, having suffered defeats against⁤ Belgium,Wales, and North Macedonia, with a single victory over Liechtenstein. The federation’s pursuit of‌ a‍ new manager ‍reflects a desire to improve results and advance in the⁢ competition.

For Probierz, ‌a move to Kazakhstan would represent‌ a second foray into managing outside of Poland, following his previous tenure with Aris Thessaloniki.‍ The outcome of the negotiations will determine ⁢whether he takes on this ⁤new challenge or ‌remains in his⁢ current ‍role.
