MG Motor Venezuela launched its novel MG5 sedan and a novel financing program, “Plan Asegúrate con 500,” simultaneously in Caracas, Maracay, and Maturín on Friday, February 13, 2026, the company announced.
The “Plan Asegúrate con 500” allows customers to start the vehicle acquisition process with a down payment of just USD 500, aiming to overcome economic barriers to new car ownership in Venezuela. Leopoldo Pérez, Director Comercial MG Motor Venezuela, stated the program offers adapted payment plans and legally secured deliveries within a maximum of 180 days under contract.
The MG5 is equipped with a 1.5L engine and an efficient transmission designed for Venezuelan terrain. MG Motor Venezuela is backing the launch with a six-year or 120,000 km warranty, according to Germán Buitrago, Gerente Comercial of MG Motor Venezuela, who emphasized the company’s confidence in the vehicle’s engineering and performance.
Beyond the vehicle’s specifications, the “Plan Asegúrate con 500” is intended to remove traditional barriers to entry in the Venezuelan automotive market, allowing both individuals and businesses to plan vehicle purchases or fleet acquisitions without immediate, large financial outlays. “Under a signed contract, we allow both individuals and companies to plan the acquisition of their next vehicle or fleet. It is a real solution for those seeking solid assets without the pressure of an immediate disbursement,” Pérez explained.
MG Motor Venezuela currently operates a network of 19 dealerships nationwide, ensuring post-sale support, parts availability, and specialized maintenance for the MG5 and the new financing plan. The launch reaffirms MG Motor Venezuela’s position as a growing brand in the sector, demonstrating an understanding of the country’s mobility and financing needs, according to a company press release.
