Met Éireann has issued a status yellow rain warning for Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, and Waterford, effective from 5.25am to 3pm on Friday. The warning cites potential localized flooding, poor visibility, and challenging travel conditions.
Outbreaks of rain are forecast across Ireland on Friday, becoming drier and brighter in the west and southeast during the afternoon. However, rain will likely persist throughout much of the day in east Munster and south and east Leinster, with temperatures potentially reaching 18 degrees.
The weekend is expected to bring mixed conditions. Saturday will begin mostly cloudy in the east and south, brightening as the afternoon progresses. The west and north will be mainly dry initially, but cloudier conditions with showers – and a chance of isolated thunderstorms – will spread from the northwest throughout the day. Temperatures on Saturday are predicted to range from 13 to 16 degrees.
Sunday will be cooler and brighter with sunny spells and scattered showers, primarily in the north and northwest. Temperatures will be between 11 and 14 degrees.
Additionally, the UK Met Office has issued rain warnings for Antrim and Down for Saturday and Sunday.
