George Russell of Mercedes secured a surprising pole position at the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix on Oct. 4. It is indeed the second time this season Russell has topped qualifying, having previously done so in June at the Canadian Grand Prix, were he converted the pole into a victory.
With seven races remaining - including the Singapore Grand Prix – Russell is fourth in the drivers’ standings with 212 points. Oscar Piastri leads the standings with 324 points, followed by Lando Norris with 299 points, and Max Verstappen with 255 points.
