Men’s Basketball To Face St. Bonaventure In Florida Tuesday

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The University of North Carolina men’s basketball team will face‍ st. Bonaventure in​ the Skechers Fort Myers Tip-Off at Suncoast Credit union​ Arena on‍ november ⁣25. This marks only the second all-time meeting between the Tar Heels⁢ adn the bonnies.

Carolina’s 2024-25‌ schedule includes ACC matchups⁢ against Syracuse on February 21 and Duke⁤ on March 7. UNC will​ not play Boston College this season and will be without a Chapel ‍Hill contest against NC State for the first time since 1919.

The Tar Heels hosted⁤ Kansas ⁤in chapel Hill for the first time ever on⁣ November 7, following a Jayhawks’ victory over UNC in Lawrence last year. That game was⁤ the third‍ on-campus matchup in 14 games played ​between the two programs.

Following the St. Bonaventure ‌game,⁢ UNC will play Michigan ⁢State‍ on Thanksgiving Day, ⁤November 28. This will be the third consecutive year the teams have met, with ​Carolina winning in Charlotte during the 2024 NCAA second round and Michigan ‌State⁣ winning in overtime last November​ in Maui.

UNC will also make its first ACC opponent visits to SMU, Stanford, and ‍Cal, holding all-time records of 1-0 against ⁤the Mustangs,⁣ 2-0 against the Cardinal, and 1-0 against the Bears ‌in those ‌venues.

Additional notable games include a ‌December 13 trip to rupp ⁣Arena⁢ to play Kentucky, the eighth time⁣ UNC has played at Kentucky since 2014, and‌ a December 20 CBS Sports Classic matchup⁢ against Ohio State in Atlanta, where the Tar​ Heels hold a 7-4 overall record and a 3-0 record against ⁣the⁣ Buckeyes.

At home in the Dean E. ‌Smith‍ Center, ⁢the Tar Heels are six wins away from reaching 500 total wins (494-90). Central Arkansas, Kansas,‍ Navy, and USC Upstate ​will all play in the⁣ Smith Center for⁤ the first time this season. Navy will be the 153rd‌ different opponent to play a regular-season or NIT‌ game in⁣ the Smith Center ⁢against UNC.

Currently, eleven former Tar Heels are on NBA opening Day rosters, ⁤including rookie ⁣Drake Powell, selected 22nd overall in the 2025 NBA ⁤Draft by Atlanta and subsequently traded to Brooklyn.‍ Powell averaged 7.4 points as a freshman last season.
