Men’s Basketball Looks to Bounce Back Thursday Night Against UMass Lowell on the Road

NJIT continues America East play on the road, facing UMass Lowell this Thursday, january 15th, at 6:00 p.m.

Maine Recap

  • The Highlanders dropped a close contest to Maine, 74-70, on Saturday, moving to 2-1 in conference play.
  • Robinson led all scorers with a game-high 24 points, shooting 9-of-16 from the field. It was his third 20+ point game and ninth double-digit scoring performance of the season.

NJIT vs. UMass Lowell: All-Time Series

  • Thursday’s game marks the 20th all-time meeting between NJIT and UMass Lowell.
  • The River Hawks currently lead the series 10-9.
  • NJIT defeated UMass Lowell 83-62 in newark last season on January 30, 2025.

America East Honors

  • Fulton was named America East Co-Player of the Week on November 17th, averaging 17.0 points and 12.0 rebounds per game.
  • Bolden earned america East Rookie of the Week honors for two consecutive weeks (November 10th and 17th), averaging 15 points and 6 assists per game.

  • Grant Billmeier is in his third season as head coach.
  • Ty Goode joined the coaching staff as an assistant coach after three seasons at Fordham University.
  • the Highlanders return nine players from last season, one of the highest returner totals in the conference.
  • The roster features a youthful core, with 11 of 15 players being either freshmen or sophomores.
  • New additions to the team include Melvyn Ebonkoli, Jeremy Clayville, rocco Awad, Zack Scherler, AJ Altobelli, and david Bolden.
  • Bolden scored 18 points in his debut at Fordham on November 4th, the most points by a Highlander freshman in their first game since damon Lynn in 2013.
