Mega Millions Jackpot Climbs to $575 Million for Friday’s Drawing
The Mega Millions jackpot is rapidly approaching a important milestone,currently estimated at $575 million ($264.6 million cash) for the drawing on Friday, October 10th. Should a single ticket win at this level, it would represent the 11th largest jackpot in the game’s history.
The growing jackpot is also driving increased excitement and winning tickets. The October 7th drawing resulted in 360,319 winning tickets across all prize tiers, totaling nearly $10.9 million in prizes. Three tickets matched all five white balls, securing second-tier prizes. A ticket sold in New jersey,boosted by a 3X multiplier,is worth $3 million. California saw two Match 5 tickets sold, one with a 4X multiplier and one with a 5X multiplier; however, prize values in California are subject to the state’s pari-mutuel rules and will vary from standard amounts.
Eleven tickets matched four white balls plus the Mega Ball,winning the third-tier prize. These ranged in value from $20,000 to $40,000, with winning tickets sold in Idaho, Ohio, Texas, Wisconsin, Georgia, Mississippi, North Dakota, Oregon, and Oklahoma. The current jackpot run began after a $348 million jackpot was won in Virginia on June 27th.Prior to that, jackpots were awarded in Ohio ($112 million on April 18th), Illinois ($349 million on March 25th), and Arizona ($112 million on January 17th).
