Maternal & Child Health Outreach Camp Serves kijumetouma Village

On September 17th,a Maternal & Child Health (MCH) Outreach Camp was successfully held at the Health & Wellness Center – Sub-Centre (HWC-SC) in Kijumetouma village,Jakhama block.The camp was a collaborative effort between the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Kohima, the District Health Society, the Department of Health & Family Welfare, and the National Health Mission (NHM).
according to a press release from the CMO Office Kohima, Deputy CMO Dr. Imchatoshi addressed attendees, emphasizing the importance of utilizing the camp’s services. The focus was on promoting mother and child health, encouraging healthy lifestyles, and fostering proactive health-seeking behaviors within the community.
Dr.Imchatoshi also highlighted the collective responsibility of raising health awareness to improve the well-being of the society and the individual contributions needed to achieve this goal.
Dr. Khrievilhou Nakhro, DPO (RMNCAH+N), underscored the priority given to children and pregnant mothers within the outreach program.He stressed the crucial role of community participation in establishing enduring healthcare services.
Dr. Nakhro also outlined the specialized teams available at the camp, including Pediatricians for child health, Gynaecologists for maternal health, the RBSK (Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram) team for school-going and dropout children, and the Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) team for addressing general health concerns.
The camp provided valuable resources to attendees, with gifts and nutritional packages distributed to fully immunized children, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs), and pregnant mothers. A total of 62 villagers benefited from the health services offered during the MCH outreach camp.
