McDonalds Partners With Xbox for Halo, Fallout, and WoW In-Game Rewards

August 17, 2026 Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor Entertainment

McDonald’s and Xbox are launching a joint promotion in the UK and Ireland, offering digital in-game rewards across six gaming franchises. The campaign introduces Side Missions featuring themed menu items, alongside unlockable content for titles like Halo, Fallout, and World of Warcraft.

Bringing On-Screen Flavors to Local Menus

The culinary side of the collaboration bridges virtual worlds and physical restaurants. Tim Kenward, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for McDonald’s UK and Ireland, noted that the initiative lets fans experience foods previously confined to screens. According to Kenward, choices like the Blamco Cheesy Potato Bites for Fallout 76 serve those specific franchise aesthetics directly to customers.

Alongside the themed menu items, the promotion delivers a suite of digital items accessible via the McDonald’s app. The rewards span a diverse library of the console’s intellectual property. Customers can unlock the Sugar Bomb Bundle for Fallout 76 and World of Warcraft’s Red Hot Portable Bakery. Additional rewards cover the rest of the participating lineup, offering the Master Chief Armour for Halo: Campaign Evolved, a car voucher for Forza Horizon 6, a Booster Bundle for Candy Crush Saga, and the Kiriko Donut Break Emote for Overwatch.

Navigating IP Partnerships and Brand Logistics at Scale

The inclusion of Halo: Campaign Evolved arrives alongside critical evaluation of the franchise’s technical trajectory. In its review scoring the game 7/10, IGN noted that “Halo: Campaign Evolved speaks to the series’ timelessness and adds a decent set of new missions, but it’s a mostly a lean retread that’s more of a test run for its future with Unreal Engine,” according to Tom Phillips, IGN’s News Editor.

As the rollout continues, customers in the UK and Ireland can access daily deals and tracking details through the mobile app. The partnership demonstrates how traditional retail giants leverage gaming to drive consumer engagement through dual physical and digital touchpoints.
