Campo Grande, MS – Mato Grosso do Sul state officially launched the Center for Strategic Information in Health Surveillance (Cieges MS) on Monday, bolstering the state’s capacity for data-driven public health decision-making and proactive crisis response. The new center will leverage data science to produce predictive indicators, identify health risks, and accelerate the implementation of effective strategies within the Unified Health System (SUS).
Cieges MS is designed to modernize the treatment, organization, and submission of health data, enabling improved planning of public policies, enhanced monitoring of health challenges, and more agile responses to population needs. The center’s work will be conducted jointly and integrated with other entities.
Beyond scenario analysis and predictive modeling, Cieges MS is integrated into a national network connecting states to facilitate the exchange of information, experiences, and best practices. This collaboration aims to accelerate the growth of information systems, stimulate public health innovation, and strengthen SUS management across Brazil.
A workshop, “Cieges MS Workshop-Bright Strategies: Challenges and Proposals for Digital Health in MS,” was held Tuesday at the BioParque Pantanal auditorium in Campo Grande, targeting health professionals, technicians, and SUS partner entities. The event focused on collaborating on the digital health conversion in Mato Grosso do Sul, discussing challenges, and presenting solutions to improve the reach, availability, and efficiency of citizen services.
The launch of Cieges MS represents the culmination of a collective effort to deliver more agile, clear, and quality health services to the population of Mato Grosso do Sul, according to state health officials.
