Matane’s Senior Baseball Team Unstoppable with Four Straight Wins
The senior baseball team representing Boulevard de Matane is demonstrating an unstoppable performance, with coach Frédéric Dumas leading them to four consecutive victories.
Just over a week ago, pitcher Keisuke Takikawa continued his winning momentum by completing a match with only three hits allowed against Bérubé GM of Trois-Pistoles. “In addition to the nine strikeouts from Takikawa, our hitters were also impressive. Something happened that I had never experienced in 20 years of baseball before: our first two hitters, Olivier sirois and Louis-Félix Noël, managed home runs.Subsequently, we gave nothing away defensively,” stated coach Frédéric Dumas. The result was a decisive 9-0 victory for Matane.
As of this writing, the team leads the league standings. They aim to capitalize on these performances as they begin a series of four games. With games in hand against most other teams, Matane is well-positioned to climb to fourth place in the general classification. Following this stretch, it will be the final push before the playoffs.
The atmosphere in the locker room is described as excellent, according to the coach. “The guys are happy to see that their efforts are bearing fruit on the field. The only downside is that we had to say goodbye to Kochi Miyazaki, who returned to Japan for personal reasons
