Maserati Unveils MCPURA: A Reinvention of the MC20 Halo Car

Embodying Pure Elegance and Performance with Unprecedented Customization

Maserati has pulled back the curtain on the MCPURA, a striking evolution of its 2020 MC20 Halo Car. This new creation amplifies the brand’s commitment to intense, refined performance, focusing on enhanced exterior design, premium materials, and sophisticated interior finishes.

A Fusion of Power and Passion

At its core, the MCPURA retains the formidable 630-horsepower V6 Nettuno engine, a symbol of Maserati’s enduring dedication to exhilarating driving experiences. This engine, 100% conceived and built by Maserati, boasts a 3.0L twin-turbo configuration, achieving 7,500 RPM and delivering 720 Nm of torque from 3,000 RPM. Its advanced pre-chamber combustion system with twin ignition is derived directly from Formula 1 technology, yielding an impressive power-to-displacement ratio of 210 horsepower per liter.

The MCPURA promises a driving connection described as “direct and without filter,” blending extreme elegance with thrilling sensations and timeless craftsmanship. The very name, MCPURA, is designed to encapsulate the authentic values of the Maserati trident, with its launch campaign playfully referencing Einstein’s theory of relativity: E = McPura, celebrating an energy that multiplies into pure excellence.

The MCPURA features an exclusive Ai Aqua Rainbow paint finish, designed to be a unique and pure hue.

Personalized Design Meets Vibrant Aesthetics

Making its debut at Goodwood, the MCPURA showcased an exclusive “Ai Aqua Rainbow” paint. Developed through the Maserati Fuoriserie personalization program, this color offers a matte finish for the coupé and a gloss finish for the MCPURA Sky convertible. The shade is inspired by the prism effect of white light, creating a dynamic, ever-changing blue hue.

Complementing the bodywork, the Maserati trident on the grille, the C-pillar, and side emblems are rendered in a magenta shade featuring mica blue reflections. This same color adorns the center of the diamond-finished rims, offering contrast with either glossy details on the coupé or matte accents on the convertible.

Inside, the MCPURA features seats in “Ice” Alcantara, laser-engraved with the trident for a distinctive visual. The interior’s rendering is both futuristic and sporty, with a double reverse finish in iridescent red with blue reflections, or iridescent blue with red reflections, mirroring the external color accents. The laser treatment provides a three-dimensional effect, enhancing the blend of sportiness and elegance.

An Evocative Color Palette and Extensive Customization

The MCPURA boasts a compelling color palette, a tribute to Italian spirit and Maserati’s heritage. Three standout shades include “Devil Orange,” a vibrant and daring choice, and “Royale Green” and “Night Interaction,” sophisticated double-layer metallic finishes. These options reinforce the MCPURA’s position as a new global standard in luxury.

The Fuoriserie program opens up over 30 personalization options for the bodywork, ranging from solid hues and metallic finishes to multi-layer and matte treatments. This extensive customization allows owners to create a truly bespoke vehicle.

Engineering Excellence: Carbon Fiber, Butterfly Doors, and Sky Roof

Available immediately as a coupé or cabriolet, the MCPURA distinguishes itself with four key elements: a carbon fiber body, the patented V6 Nettuno engine, distinctive butterfly doors, and a retractable glass roof for the Sky version. The carbon fiber monocoque construction ensures both rigidity and lightness, resulting in a total weight under 1,500 kg. This, combined with its 630 horsepower, yields a best-in-class weight-to-power ratio of 2.33 kg/hp.

The butterfly doors not only enhance accessibility but also reveal the chassis’s carbon structure. The Cielo (Sky) version features an advanced PDLC (polymer-dispersed liquid crystal) glass roof that can switch between opaque and transparent states in a second, offering multiple driving experiences: enclosed comfort, sky views, or open-air freedom.
