The update from Singer arrives as legal proceedings continue regarding the December 2025 deaths. Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner were stabbed to death on Dec. 14, 2025, at their Brentwood residence. A grand jury subsequently indicted their son, Nick Reiner, on two counts of first-degree murder.
The indictment includes a special circumstance allegation that the murders were committed by means of lying in wait, alongside a special allegation that Nick personally used a dangerous and deadly weapon—specifically a knife—during the alleged killing. Court records show that Nick has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
