Martín Landaluce: Rising Tennis Star, Family Support & Sponsors

March 24, 2026 Emma Walker – News Editor News

Martín Landaluce, 20, has become the ninth lowest-ranked player (151) to reach the round of 16 at the Miami Open. Having secured his first ATP match win at the tournament two seasons ago, the Madrid native has fully unleashed his tennis arsenal and will face Sebastian Korda on Tuesday for a place in the quarterfinals.

Landaluce’s success, long anticipated since his junior US Open championship in 2022, is deeply intertwined with the guidance of his father, Alejandro, a former top-ranked player on the +55 circuit. The competitive spirit appears inherent in the Landaluce family; Albert Molina, currently representing Carlos Alcaraz and a leading talent scout for IMG, recognized Martín’s potential at age 12.

Alejandra Landaluce joined Molina’s team last year, traveling to major tournaments and supporting her brother at events like the Miami Open. Óscar Burrieza and Esteban Carril serve as Martín’s primary coaches, with his father overseeing his athletic program.

Three years ago, Landaluce established his training base at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Manacor, where he had the opportunity to practice with the 22-time Grand Slam champion before Nadal’s retirement in November 2024.

Landaluce has secured sponsorship deals with Lotto, Wilson, Cupra, Red Bull, and Isdin, the latter introduced to the tennis world by Molina, who similarly represents Alcaraz and the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell.

Following the Masters 1000 tournament in Florida, Landaluce’s schedule remains uncertain regarding invitations to the main draw of the Godó tournament (April 13-19) and the Mutua Madrid Open (April 22-May 3).

Despite his dedication to tennis, Landaluce continues his studies, balancing match play with coursework in Business Administration and Management at the Universidad Internacional de La Rioja (UNIR). He was simultaneously preparing for Wimbledon qualifying and completing university exams last year.

Landaluce’s rivalry with Rafa Jódar, a fellow Madrid native and Club de Tenis Chamartín member, was highlighted at the Next Gen Finals in Jeddah last December, where Jódar secured a victory. Landaluce described their long-standing competition to MARCA, noting their history dating back to age eight and numerous matches throughout their junior careers. “We’ve known each other since we were eight years old because he’s also from Chamartín. We’ve played our whole lives. Our last match before Jeddah was when we were 15. We had six years where we competed a lot in finals. Rafa won several times. People can share tournaments and relive that rivalry that existed,” he said.

According to Polymarket, as of March 24, 2026, odds and predictions favor Korda in the upcoming match against Landaluce.
