Married at First Sight is breaking new ground as its upcoming 19th season features the show’s first-ever pregnancy reveal during filming.
The shocking development, unveiled in a trailer released by Peacock on Wednesday, adds an unprecedented layer of complexity to the already high-stakes social experiment. Married at First Sight follows couples who agree to marry upon first meeting, then documents their journey as they navigate marriage and ultimately decide whether to stay together or divorce. This season’s pregnancy introduces a significant new element to that decision-making process,raising the stakes for one couple as they approach “decision day.”
The trailer poses the question to the couples: “it’s decision day. The time has come to decide. Do you want to stay married, or do you want to get a divorce?”
According to the season’s official synopsis, the couples will face the typical challenges of merging lives and confronting conflict, but the pregnancy “redefines what’s at stake” for one pair.
Returning to guide the couples are experts pastor Cal Roberson, Dr. Pepper Schwartz, and Dr. Pia Holec. The series is produced by Kinetic Content, with Chris Coelen, Eric Detwiler, Montré burton, Erica Kessler, heather Crowe, Karrie Wolfe and Katie Griffin serving as executive producers.
Married at First Sight season 19 premieres on Oct. 23 on Peacock.
