Marrakech, Morocco – Canadians looking for affordable travel options in 2026 should consider Marrakech, which ranks ‌10th in Skyscanner’s list ⁤of top ‍value destinations, experiencing a 16% price drop in​ economy class ⁣flights year-over-year. The ranking, compiled ⁣by the flight search‍ engine, comes as Canadians increasingly prioritize cost when choosing‌ a vacation, with ⁤62% citing flight prices as the most⁢ determining⁣ factor, according to a Skyscanner⁣ survey of 22,000 ⁣travelers conducted in June and July.

The findings⁣ reveal‍ a⁤ shift in Canadian travel preferences towards more ⁤purposeful ⁢and personalized experiences. “Travelers ⁢are planning with more purpose, shaping trips that reflect​ who they are ‍and what matters most, at a price that suits them,” said Skyscanner CEO Bryan​ Batista.

Skyscanner’s data‍ indicates Canadians are ⁤seeking “cultural ⁣discovery,coastal ‍charm and ⁣vibrant city life” for their 2026 trips. Travel ​expert Laura Lindsay⁤ notes a redefinition of exploration, encompassing self-care, seeking serenity, and finding inspiration through travel. “2026 is the year when travel becomes personal, and it’s not ‌limited‍ to the ⁣destinations themselves,” she added.

marrakech joins ​other affordable destinations​ on the list, topped by‌ Lyon, France (-35%), Dublin, Ireland ​(-29%), and Seoul, South Korea (-22%). Bucharest, Romania and Zurich, Switzerland both saw price drops of ⁢-21%, followed‍ by Venice,⁤ Italy (-20%), Ponta Delgada, Portugal (-20%), mexico ‍City, mexico (-16%), and Dubai, United⁢ Arab ⁣Emirates (-16%).

Canadians’ growing recognition for moroccan culture‍ is also ⁢evidenced ‍by increasing demand for Moroccan blueberries, ​according to recent reports. ‌Travelers to Morocco should be aware of current travel advisories ‍issued by the Canadian government.
