Marissa Bode Receives 2025 Christopher Reeve Acting Award for Wicked Role
LOS ANGELES,CA – november 5,2025 – Rising star Marissa Bode has been honored wiht the 2025 Christopher reeve Acting Award,recognizing her performance in the upcoming film adaptation of Wicked. The declaration was made today by the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, celebrating Bode’s portrayal of Nessarose in wicked For Good, scheduled for release November 27, 2025.
The Christopher Reeve Acting Award acknowledges actors with disabilities who demonstrate remarkable skill and contribute to greater representation within the entertainment industry. Bode, who uses a wheelchair, delivers a nuanced and compelling performance as Nessarose, bringing visibility to disability in a major motion picture musical. Bode’s casting alongside Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo in Wicked for Good has already generated significant buzz.The film, directed by Jon M. Chu, is based on the beloved Broadway musical by Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman. The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation was founded in 1984 by Dana Reeve following the spinal cord injury sustained by her husband,actor Christopher Reeve,in 1995.The foundation’s mission is to cure spinal cord injury and improve the lives of individuals living with paralysis.
