Mariners Players to Watch in the 2026 World Baseball Classic
Sixteen players from the Seattle Mariners organization are poised to participate in the upcoming 2026 World Baseball Classic, representing 12 different national teams. The contingent includes established stars and rising prospects from the Mariners’ system, signaling a significant presence for the club in the international tournament.
Among the most prominent Mariners players set to compete are Julio Rodríguez, Cal Raleigh, Randy Arozarena, and Andrés Muñoz. Arozarena and Muñoz will both represent Mexico, managed by Benjamín Gil. Arozarena, a Cuban-born player who now represents Mexico, is expected to start in left field, building on his successful performance in the 2023 tournament where he captivated fans with his charisma and impactful play, contributing to Mexico’s third-place finish. He batted .607 with an OPS of 1.507 and eight RBIs in that competition.
Raleigh, the current MLB home run leader, will play for Team USA. He announced his commitment to the team in July 2025. He finished the season with a record-breaking 60 home runs for a catcher, leading all hitters in the American League, and also drove in 125 runs.
Julio Rodríguez will return to the Dominican Republic team as their starting center fielder, under the leadership of manager Albert Pujols. In his debut in the 2023 Classic, Rodríguez batted .278 with an OPS of .649, adding a double and three RBIs.
Josh Naylor, recently signed to a multi-year contract, will represent Canada in the tournament. Additional Mariners players participating include Gabe Speier (USA, relief pitcher), Dane Dunning (South Korea, starting pitcher), Miles Mastrobuoni (Italy, utility), Dominic Canzone (Italy, outfielder), Guillermo Zúñiga (Colombia, pitcher), Michael Arroyo (Colombia, infielder), Eduard Bazardo (Venezuela, pitcher), Abdiel Mendoza (Panama, pitcher), Charlie Beilenson (Israel, pitcher), Dylan Wilson (Netherlands, pitcher), and Pedro Da Costa Lemos (Brazil, pitcher).
