Man Found Dead After apparent Drowning in Venice Beach
VENICE BEACH, CA – A man was pronounced dead Tuesday after his body was pulled from the water near venice Beach. Los Angeles County Lifeguards responded to reports of a possible drowning around 10:30 a.m. near the Lifeguard Station 26, located south of the Venice Pier.
The victim, whose identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin, was recovered by lifeguards and paramedics attempted resuscitation, but were unsuccessful. The cause of death is currently under examination, and authorities have not released further details surrounding the incident.
The incident occurred amidst moderate surf conditions. While Venice Beach sees millions of visitors annually, drownings are infrequent due to the presence of a dedicated lifeguard team. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the inherent risks associated with ocean activities,even in areas with lifeguard coverage. Authorities are urging beachgoers to exercise caution and swim near lifeguard stations.
