Marcos Administration’s Free Rice Program Benefits Millions of Filipino Families

Marcos Jr. has expanded the government’s food assistance efforts, reaching over 52,000 beneficiaries in Lucena City and 2,100 families in Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur, through the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) rice program. These distributions are part of a broader national initiative that has assisted approximately 7 million families across the Philippines.
National Rice Distribution and LGSF Implementation
The administration’s rice distribution program utilizes the LGSF to provide direct aid to low-income households. According to sources, the program has reached a target of 7 million families nationwide.
In Oriental Mindoro, a distribution event provided rice and additional livelihood support to 55,000 local families.
