Marc Marquez’s Austin Domination: 7 Wins at COTA | DAZN España
Marc Márquez secured his seventh MotoGP World Championship title at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas, on March 30, 2025, dominating the GP of the Americas. The Ducati Lenovo Team rider finished the season with 545 points, surpassing his competitors and cementing his status as one of the sport’s most decorated racers.
Márquez’s victory at COTA marked a significant moment in his career, continuing a strong association with the track, often referred to as ‘93’ territory – a nod to his iconic race number. This championship win follows a period of transition for the Spanish rider, who previously raced for Honda from 2013 to 2023 and then the Ducati satellite team Gresini in 2024, before joining the Ducati Lenovo Team.
The 2025 season saw Márquez achieve a remarkable level of consistency, securing 73 race wins, 126 podium finishes, and 74 pole positions across 209 starts. His total career points now stand at 3597. Prior to his MotoGP success, Márquez demonstrated his talent in the lower classes, winning the 125cc World Championship in 2010 and the Moto2 World Championship in 2012.
DAZN España highlighted Márquez’s achievement, showcasing a video featuring Spanish sporting legends, including Rafael Nadal and Fernando Alonso, acknowledging his 2025 title win. The broadcast network also noted a notable moment at COTA where Márquez seemingly influenced the starting grid positioning, prompting other riders to emulate his actions.
The 2026 GP of the Americas is scheduled to take place at COTA, continuing the tradition of MotoGP racing in the United States. The event will again be broadcast on DAZN, offering fans continued access to the championship series. Álex Márquez finished second in the 2025 championship standings.
