Maplewood to Host Community Meeting on Movie Theatre Redevelopment Plan Next Month
Maplewood Township will present updates to its movie Theater Redevelopment Plan at a community meeting on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 7:00-9:00 pm at The Great Hall at The Woodland, 60 Woodland Road. The meeting will focus on the latest draft of the plan,which outlines the future of the block bounded by Maplewood Avenue,Inwood Place,and Durand Road.
The Township Committee designated the area-commonly referred to as “The Movie Theater Redevelopment area”-as a non-condemnation redevelopment area, initiating a process to revitalize the block. The plan is the result of feedback gathered from two community meetings and two visioning sessions held last year. Residents and stakeholders will have the chance to learn about the draft plan and provide feedback, which will be considered by the Township Committee and Planning board before a final adoption vote, with further public comment opportunities to follow.
