Manchester Flood Warning: Heavy Rain and Cold Blast Hit UK

A flood alert is in effect for parts of Greater Manchester‍ as river ⁤levels continue to rise⁤ following recent heavy rainfall from storm Claudia. The alert, issued ‌by the Environment Agency, covers areas ‌around Knutsford, Wilmslow, Hale,⁢ Macclesfield and Bollington, impacting rivers ⁣Bollin, dean and Pedley, Birkin and Mobberley Brooks and their tributaries.

The ongoing disruption follows repeated flooding on ‌a key⁣ dual⁤ carriageway, which remains closed due ‍to a diverted water ‌channel believed‌ to be caused by tree fall ‍during Storm claudia. Authorities are investigating the cause of the ⁣road flooding ‌and⁢ expect to provide an update on Wednesday. the dual carriageway was previously closed due ⁤to flooding on Friday last week.

Low-lying land and roads near ⁤rivers are most at risk, according to the Environment Agency. Residents and motorists are advised to remain vigilant and monitor conditions.
