Man Utd Internationals: Fixtures & Players in Action – March 2026

Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire have been recalled to the England squad for upcoming friendlies against Uruguay and Japan, as Gareth Southgate prepares his team ahead of the 2026 World Cup. The matches, to be played on March 27th and March 31st respectively, will provide an opportunity for players to stake a claim for a place in the tournament squad.

Mainoo’s inclusion marks a return to the national team after a period of strong form for Manchester United. Maguire, also of Manchester United, has been brought back into the fold, signaling a potential shift in Southgate’s defensive options. The Athletic reported on the squad selection, omitting any mention of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Several other Manchester United players will be representing their countries during the international break. Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot have been called up by Portugal for matches against Mexico and the USA. Casemiro and Matheus Cunha are set to feature for Brazil in their games against France and Croatia. Noussair Mazraoui will represent Morocco in friendlies against Ecuador and Paraguay.

Further afield, Altay Bayindir will join up with the Turkey squad for a crucial World Cup playoff semi-final against Romania. A win would see them face either Kosovo or Slovakia in a bid to qualify for the tournament. Rasmus Hojlund’s Denmark also face a playoff, taking on North Macedonia before a potential match against the winners of the Czech Republic and Ireland tie. Amad Diallo has been selected for the Ivory Coast, with Senne Lammens included in the Belgium squad.

The international break also sees James Scanlon called up for Gibraltar, while Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko have withdrawn from their respective international squads with Cameroon and Slovenia. Lisandro Martinez was not selected for Argentina, and Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee are absent from the Netherlands squad. Leny Yoro will feature for the France under-21s.
