Man United Sign Bryan Mbeumo: Deal Reaches £70 Million

by Alex Carter - Sports Editor

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Brentford for the transfer of forward Bryan Mbeumo, with sources indicating the deal is worth £65 million plus potential add-ons that coudl push the total value beyond £70 million.

Mbeumo, who netted 20 Premier League goals last season, becomes United’s latest significant acquisition as the club continues its summer transfer business. The reported fee surpasses the £62.5 million Manchester United paid for Matheus Cunha, another forward, highlighting Mbeumo’s perceived value.

Sources previously informed ESPN that Manchester United had increased their offer for Mbeumo, a move that followed Brentford’s valuation of their key attacker. Mbeumo’s extraordinary goal tally in the Premier League last term, coupled with his younger age compared to Cunha, contributed to the higher valuation.

The transfer situation for Mbeumo was further complex by interest from other clubs in his strike partner, Yoane Wissa. Brentford has reportedly expressed a reluctance to sanction the departures of both Mbeumo and Wissa within the same transfer window.
