Man shot in face after intervening in South London road rage row
A 32-year-old lift engineer and father of four is fighting for his life with a one per cent chance of survival after being shot in the face in Woolwich, South London, while attempting to intervene in a road rage dispute, The Irish Sun reported.
The Road Rage Intervention on Florence Street
The incident unfolded last Thursday evening on Florence Street, located near the Royal Artillery barracks in South London. The victim, whose identity police have withheld for family reasons, was driving his van when he noticed two motorists arguing on the road. He pulled over to step between the pair and defuse the confrontation. As the dispute subsided and he returned to his vehicle to drive the short distance to his nearby home, one of the motorists opened fire.
The gunman riddled the victim’s van with bullets, striking the 32-year-old directly in the face. The suspect immediately fled the scene in a dark saloon vehicle. Emergency services rushed to the location, and the critically injured man was airlifted to a hospital.
Father of Four Has One per Cent Survival Chance
Medical personnel at the hospital have assessed the father of four’s chances of survival at just one per cent. A friend close to the family described the grim medical outlook, noting that his loved ones are in absolute devastation. His children, all very young, have not yet been told what happened to their father.

A relative shared the family’s grief in a social media statement, writing that he was simply “an innocent man at the wrong place at the wrong time” as a “family man who was on his way home from work.”
Police Appeal and Ongoing Hunt for the Gunman
Metropolitan Police officers initially kept specific details of the shooting under wraps while conducting immediate inquiries. Investigators formally issued a public appeal for information regarding the suspect and the dark saloon vehicle used in the getaway. Authorities continue to urge anyone with dashcam footage, CCTV, or witness accounts from the Florence Street area last Thursday evening to contact local law enforcement.
