Cedartown Man in Custody Following Altercation and Pursuit
Cedartown, GA – A Cedartown man is facing multiple charges after a reported violent outburst led to a foot chase with local law enforcement on tuesday, August 20th. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call at approximately 10:30 PM at a residence on Martin Street, ultimately resulting in the arrest of 34-year-old Joshua Daniel hayes.
According to authorities, the initial call concerned a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, deputies encountered Hayes allegedly exhibiting aggressive behavior and refusing to cooperate with officers. The situation escalated, prompting hayes to flee on foot. After a brief pursuit, deputies successfully apprehended him near the intersection of Martin Street and Oak Street.
Hayes is currently charged with obstruction of a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct, and simple assault. Additional charges may be pending as the inquiry continues. no injuries were reported to deputies during the incident.
