małgorzata Rozenek Discusses Estate Planning and Confronting Mortality
Małgorzata Rozenek, a businesswoman and public figure, has openly discussed her proactive approach to estate planning and her surprisingly cozy relationship with the topic of death. Known for sharing aspects of her life, including “parenting” as the birth of her youngest son, Henryk, five years ago, Rozenek revealed to “Fakt” that she regularly considers the future security of her three children: Stanisław, Tadeusz, and Henryk.
rozenek explained that thinking about mortality isn’t morbid for her, but rather a responsible act of motherhood. “I think about death every day,” she stated. “And it sounds a bit macabre, but as a rational and responsible mother, I think more not about the fact that I will be gone, but about what my children could do with my absence.I have been securing them for a long time.” She and her husband, Radosław Majdan, even discussed their ability to raise henryk to adulthood given their age when he was born.
This awareness, she says, enhances her recognition for life. “This awareness of death accompanying each day makes you live your life better and deeper. I like this thinking.”
Rozenek has taken her planning a step further, detailing that she has already envisioned her own funeral.”I know exactly what my funeral would look like – I like to plan things like this,” she shared. While Majdan is less excited about the conversation, she notes he is aware of her wishes. “Radzio doesn’t like to talk about it, although he knows well what I want the ceremony to look like. But he says he will die first.”
She emphasizes the importance of normalizing discussions about death, even finding comfort in them with her mother. “I do not demonize the topic of death. It is indeed very critically important to me that this is a normal topic. I really enjoy my conversations with my mother. I love planning with her what her funeral will look like and where her grave will be. I know I seem like a person with a penchant for the macabre, but this is agency, which allows us to feel safe and I can see that my mother enjoys talking about it.”
Rozenek also revealed she has prepared multiple wills, updating them as her assets and circumstances change.”I’m the type to have my wills prepared. I used the plural as they appeared and changed depending on the state of possessions,” she explained. Despite discussing these sensitive topics, Rozenek’s parents are currently in good health, both in their 70s.
