Reveal Lens, a Malaysian-developed AI-powered instant review system designed for badminton line calls, made its international tournament debut at the Antica Singapore International Challenge 2026, operating across courts from August 18 to 23, 2026. Developed by local sports technology firm Revealtek Sdn Bhd, the system deploys 12 synchronized high-speed cameras running at 240 frames per second to track shuttlecock trajectories and calculate precise landing points during disputed challenges.
The Operational Mechanics of Optical Line Calling
Traditional international review systems require fixed stadium infrastructure with implementation costs hovering around USD 100,000 per event, roughly equivalent to RM404,700. Revealtek chief executive officer Nizam Mohamed explained to Bernama that Reveal Lens utilizes a wireless configuration engineered for installation and calibration within approximately two hours. When players contest a line call, computer vision algorithms process the trajectory data and display the calculated landing spot within seconds on stadium screens via Reveal Score and Reveal Stream.
By lowering equipment overhead, national associations can integrate instant replay without heavy stadium modifications.
Domestic Track Record Leading to Singapore
Before stepping onto the international stage in Singapore, Revealtek built an extensive operational track record across domestic Malaysian competitions. The technology made its official live operational debut at the Selangor IJM Junior Closed (1st Leg) 2025. The system subsequently handled contested calls for junior players in Selangor at the AFFIN 100PLUS Junior Elite Tour (2nd Leg) Group B in April 2026.
Providing review tools at the PETRONAS National Under-18 Championships 2026 in Selangor, Revealtek broadened its nationwide state-level footprint from April 22 to 27, 2026. The company integrated the technology across courts in Kuala Lumpur during the AFFIN 100PLUS JET Finals 2026 in June.
BWF Approval and Regional Expansion Roadmaps
Reveal Lens currently stands as one of five Instant Review Systems globally approved by the Badminton World Federation. Following the conclusion of the tournament in Singapore, organizers and national associations in Vietnam and Indonesia expressed interest in utilizing the technology. Revealtek is engaged in ongoing discussions with continental badminton confederations to secure endorsements as a standard officiating tool for all member associations.
Beyond challenge-based reviews, the firm is developing an analytics module for performance evaluation alongside a fully functioning autonomous line-calling system intended to perform the core duties of human line judges. This upcoming automated line-calling technology is scheduled for a live demonstration by Revealtek at an Australian tournament this October, as verified by Nizam Mohamed.

The Singapore deployment drew regional attention and featured a special exhibition doubles match.
