University of Scranton field Hockey Star Maggie Keys Earns Athlete of the Week Honors
Scranton, PA – September 22, 2025 – university of Scranton junior field hockey player Maggie Keys has been named the Peggy’s scranton Athlete of the Week, recognizing her outstanding performance in leading the Royals to a perfect 2-0 record over the past week. The declaration was made today by the University’s athletic department.
Keys, a native of centerport, New York, was instrumental in Scranton’s victories over King’s College and Arcadia University. She finished the week with two goals and three assists, totaling seven points. Her standout performance came against King’s on Tuesday, where she recorded a career-high five points with two goals and one assist in a dominant 6-0 win. Keys continued to contribute significantly on Saturday, providing assists on both goals in a 2-0 shutout victory over Arcadia.
Currently, Keys leads the Landmark Conference in assists with seven and ranks fourth in the conference with 13 total points this season. This marks the first time Keys has received the prestigious Scranton athlete of the Week award.
