Tiburones de La Guaira Secure Angels Prospect Nelson Rada for Upcoming season
CARABOBO,Venezuela – The Tiburones de La Guaira have confirmed the arrival of 20-year-old Nelson Rada,a promising prospect from the Los Angeles Angels association,for the upcoming Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) season. Rada received permission to join the Filibusteros, and is expected to be uniform by the end of October.
Rada’s addition represents a meaningful boost to La Guaira’s lineup, injecting speed and dynamism into the team’s offensive potential.The Carabobeño native recently completed his first experience in Triple-A baseball, and manager Federico Rojas indicated that while Rada currently doesn’t have a defined role for exhibition games, that could change as he settles in.
In 131 games between Double-A and Triple-A in 2025, Rada recorded 140 hits, including 2 home runs, 38 RBIs, 78 runs scored, and 53 stolen bases, finishing with a .295 batting average, .398 on-base percentage,and .762 OPS. His arrival is anticipated to energize the Tiburones as they prepare for the season.
