Madrid Braves Sign Defensive Lineman Diego Paz for 2026 Season

Madrid Bravos Bolster Defense with Return of Diego Paz

The Madrid Bravos have announced the signing of defensive lineman Diego Paz for the 2026 season, bringing a proven pass rusher back to his hometown team. Paz previously played for the Bravos in 2024 before a accomplished stint with the Raiders Tirol.

This move marks the first player acquisition for the Bravos as they build their roster for 2026, following initial focus on coaching staff additions. The team struggled with pass-rushing consistency in 2025, recording only 20 team sacks – a low figure in the European League of football – and Paz’s return is expected to considerably strengthen their defensive line.

A Madrid native, Paz has amassed 51 tackles, 5 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, and 1 forced fumble across 30 ELF games as 2023. He began his ELF career with the Barcelona Dragons in 2023 before joining the Bravos, and subsequently the Raiders Tirol for the 2025 season.

The Bravos aim to build a more disruptive defense capable of competing at a higher level next season, and view Paz as a key component in achieving that goal. Further roster additions are anticipated in the coming weeks.
