Porsche Macan Electric Completes 900km Melbourne-to-Sydney Drive with Ease
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – A Porsche Macan Electric recently completed a 900-kilometer journey from Melbourne to Sydney, demonstrating the viability of long-distance EV travel in Australia. The trip, undertaken with CarsGuide, highlighted the vehicle’s performance capabilities and charging convenience, concluding without “stress” despite requiring four stops and one detour.
The triumphant run comes as Australians increasingly consider electric vehicles, but harbor concerns about range anxiety and charging infrastructure. This real-world test showcases the Macan Electric’s potential to alleviate those concerns, offering up to 256 kW of overboost power and a 100 kWh Performance Battery Plus capable of recuperative charging – adding up to 240 kW while braking. The journey underscores Porsche’s commitment to electric mobility and provides potential buyers with tangible evidence of the Macan Electric’s long-distance practicality.
During the drive, the Macan Electric navigated the Hume Highway and the Great dividing Range, with its power and torque making the climb through rolling hills feel like a “level cruise.” Upon entering Sydney’s traffic, the vehicle’s recuperative braking system seamlessly recharged the battery while slowing and braking.
Driver Stephen noted the ease of the trip, stating, “Driving between Melbourne and sydney in an EV is easy…900 kilometres, four stops, one detour and no stress.” He concluded, “The Macan is made for it.”
The journey culminated at Blues Point, overlooking sydney Harbour, with the setting sun reflecting off the vehicle’s papaya Metallic finish.
