Mac DeMarco Launches World Tour With 23-Song Set at Los angeles’ Greek Theater
LOS ANGELES, CA – Mac DeMarco began a sprawling world tour last night, August 22, at the iconic Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, following the release of his sixth studio album, guitar. The performance marked the kickoff for a tour supporting the new record and showcased a career-spanning setlist for the enthusiastic crowd.DeMarco’s setlist drew heavily from his latest LP, Guitar, featuring eight tracks including “Shining,” “Holy,” “phantom,” and the B-side “Rock and Roll.” The artist also revisited earlier work, performing songs from 2012’s Rock and Roll Night Club through 2019’s Here Comes The Cowboy – including the hit “Heart to Heart” - and 2014’s Salad Days with its title track.
The 23-song performance included selections from This old Dog and material from his 2023 collection of demos, One Wayne G, alongside fan favorites like “Freaking Out the Neighborhood” from 2.demarco is scheduled for two additional nights at the Greek Theatre before heading east for shows in Philadelphia, Baltimore, and New York City, culminating in two performances at radio City Music Hall. The tour continues across North America into late October, then moves to Europe with dates in Amsterdam, Paris, Oslo, and Berlin.
