Lindsey Wilson College Celebrates Record-Breaking Commencement Before University Transition
Columbia, Ky. – lindsey Wilson College is set to hold its 121st commencement ceremonies this weekend,May 2-3,2025,at the Biggers Sports Center. This event marks a historic moment as the final graduating class to receive Lindsey Wilson College diplomas before the institution officially becomes Lindsey Wilson University on July 1 [[1]].
A Record-Setting Class
The college will award a total of 890 degrees,encompassing undergraduate,graduate,and doctoral levels. This spring commencement boasts the largest number of graduates in the college’s 122-year history.combined with the 843 degrees conferred during the winter commencement in December, the Lindsey Wilson Class of 2024-25 achieves a record-breaking total of 1,733 graduates [[2]].
Commencement Ceremony Details
The commencement exercises are divided into three distinct ceremonies:
- Friday, May 2, 6 p.m. CDT: Honoring graduates of Lindsey Wilson’s hybrid graduate program.
- Saturday, may 3, 10 a.m. CDT: Recognizing graduates from the A.P. White Campus in Columbia.
- Saturday, May 3, 2 p.m. CDT: Celebrating graduates from Lindsey Wilson’s extended campuses and online programs.
Each graduate has been allotted tickets for guests to attend the ceremonies.
Student Speakers
Three accomplished members of the Class of 2025 will deliver addresses during the spring ceremonies:
- ujjwal Bhattarai: Speaking at the may 2 ceremony,Bhattarai,originally from Nepal and now residing in Nashville,Tennessee,will receive a master of science degree in data technology management. Bhattarai,who works for HCA Healthcare,aspires to establish a company focused on leveraging technology to enhance healthcare.
- Anatoliy Voloshyn: Addressing the May 3, 10 a.m. CDT ceremony, Voloshyn hails from Cherkasy, Ukraine. He will graduate with a bachelor of arts degree in business governance with a minor in political science. A member of the Lindsey Wilson tennis program and co-founder of the Lindsey Wilson Ukraine Club, Voloshyn interned in the Washington, D.C., office of U.S. Rep. Tom Suozzi and plans to pursue a career in public service, serving both Ukraine and the United States.
- Erin Kershaw Guy: Delivering the address at the May 3, 2 p.m. CDT ceremony, Guy, from Hendersonville, Tennessee, will graduate with a master of education degree in counseling.Having served at Serenity Counseling since her practicum, Guy intends to continue her work ther post-graduation.
Viewing Options
For those unable to attend in person, the spring commencement ceremonies will be broadcast on closed-circuit television in the Norma & Glen Hodge Center for Discipleship, located at 402 Helen Flatt Drive.
