Lucas Cordero’s Nasal Reconstruction: Complications, Corrections, and a Delayed Recovery

Madrid, Spain – Singer Lucas Cordero of the duo Andy & Lucas is undergoing a prolonged recovery following complications from a nasal reconstruction surgery, according to recent reports and statements from the artist himself. Initial surgery to correct a deviated septum was followed by a failed healing process, necessitating further intervention and a lengthy, staged recovery.

A medical expert appearing on the program El Plural explained that Cordero is currently utilizing a “containment splint” designed to guide bone growth and maintain the nose’s structure. The doctor emphasized that the current situation is “normal” given the complexities of rebuilding after a previous surgical failure, describing the process as “gradual.” The splint, described as a post-surgical nasal splint, is crucial for “keeping [the] nose in place” during the healing phase.

While a full resolution is possible, the doctor stated that success hinges on the growth of a graft and diligent patient care. the number of future operations will depend on Cordero’s desired outcome and how his nose evolves.

Cordero initially remained silent for months regarding changes to his appearance, even denying having undergone surgery during an appearance on the program TAR. Though, during a January 2025 interview on El Hormiguero, he admitted to having had an aesthetic operation to address the deviated septum. He explained his initial reluctance to discuss the procedure stemmed from a need to process the emotional impact and public scrutiny. He later apologized to journalist Ana Rosa Quintana for his earlier denials. The singer revealed he was a “bad patient,” admitting to prematurely removing gauze and failing to adhere to post-operative care instructions, which contributed to the initial healing failure. A second surgery, initially scheduled for April, was postponed until October to allow for adequate healing.

Cordero expressed regret for the initial deception, stating it wasn’t malicious but a desire to maintain privacy. He acknowledged the pressure of media attention ultimately led to his disclosure.
