Thirteen Individuals from the Lot Department Honored with Prestigious Academic Palms
Lot, France – Thirteen prominent figures dedicated to education and cultural enrichment within the Lot department were recently distinguished with the Order of Academic Palms in a ceremony marking the July 2025 promotion, as announced this September. The honors recognise sustained commitment to fostering both scholastic achievement and the preservation of cultural heritage within the region.
The order of Academic Palms, established to acknowledge contributions beyond the classroom, celebrates individuals who actively cultivate a vibrant educational landscape and contribute to the richness of cultural life. This latest cohort represents a diverse range of roles – from school administrators and educators to support staff - all united by a dedication exceeding fifteen years of service. While French nationality is not a requirement, all honorees demonstrate a profound impact on the Lot community.
Leading this year’s recipients is Chantal Biolé, Secretary General of Eple, who was elevated to the rank of Commander – the highest distinction within the order.
Three new Officers were also recognized: Fabienne Cajan, Principal of a school city; Régis Daniel, Associate Professor of Music; and Christèle Hoscar, Secretary General of the DSDEN du Lot.
Rounding out the distinguished group, ten individuals were appointed to the rank of Knight. These include Andriharinjaka Anrianjaka Bezanahary, college Principal; Véronique boularan, a teacher specializing in History-Geography and Literature; Vincent Carrière, School Director; Jacques Cathala, manager overseeing school catering services; Anne Cavalié, Educational Advisor; Anne Delmas, School Nurse; Florent Fage, Departmental Prevention Advisor; Frédéric Gille, College Principal; and Nathalie Touret, School Director.
Eligibility for the Order of Academic Palms requires a minimum of fifteen years of dedicated service within the fields of education or culture, and applicants must be at least 35 years of age. The awards serve as a testament to the enduring value placed on those who shape the intellectual and cultural lives of communities throughout France.
