Loretta Lynn’s Van Lear Rose Returns to Streaming and Vinyl
Loretta Lynn’s Grammy-winning, Jack White-produced 2004 album Van Lear Rose is returning to digital streaming platforms on November 13th, alongside a physical repress from Third Man Records. The album vanished from streaming services in 2021.
Third Man Records Schedules the Streaming Return and Vinyl Repress
Third Man Records is bringing the record back to digital service providers on November 13th. Alongside the digital return, the project will receive a physical repress. The release is remastered from original analog tapes. It will be available on CD, standard black vinyl, and a limited-edition vinyl variant. Pre-orders are currently open.
The upcoming release includes the rarity “Just to Have You Back.” That track was previously restricted to Third Man’s vault version of the album. The single “Miss Being Mrs.” became available for streaming today.

Daughter Patsy Russell Responds to the Re-Release
Daughter Patsy Russell released a statement regarding the upcoming distribution. “It is an incredible honor to work again with Jack and his amazing team at Third Man to re-release this incredible album,” Russell stated. “Our mother’s spirit lives on through this timeless music, and we are thrilled that fans old and new will be reminded of this great work.”
The Recording History of Van Lear Rose
In 2004, Jack White convinced country music icon Loretta Lynn to record a new album for the first time in over a decade. Her prior full-length solo effort was 1988’s Who Was That Stranger. White produced the sessions for Van Lear Rose. Upon release, the project received critical acclaim and captured two Grammy Awards. It won Best Country Album, while the track “Portland, Oregon” earned the Grammy for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals.
