L’Odyssée Céleste: Immersive 360° Video Mapping Show at Notre-Dame de la Treille, Lille
Luminiscence is bringing its immersive 2026 creation, L’Odyssée Céleste, to the Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-la-Treille in Lille. Building on a global tour that reached nearly two million spectators, the new production features a 360-degree video mapping system, a live choir, and an original soundtrack that reinterprets classical compositions.
A New 360-Degree Visual and Architectural Transformation
The 2026 production uses advanced projection technology to transform the Gothic architecture of the Lille cathedral. The 360-degree video mapping covers the interior space from the base of the pillars to the summits of the vaults, creating three-dimensional visual effects designed to alter the perception of the stone structure. This visual redesign serves as the backdrop for a narrative that traces the history of Lille from medieval origins to contemporary cultural development.
Visitors follow an unfolding storyline initiated by a child who enters the cathedral. The building responds to the visitor, guiding them through a narrative sequence that highlights the historical milestones of Notre-Dame de la Treille. The experience runs for approximately 45 minutes and is accessible to non-French-speaking audiences through integrated narration.
Collaborative Musical Score and Live Performance Integration
The auditory experience relies on a newly composed soundtrack created by Guillaume Coignard and Samuel Sené, whose previous credits include symphonic projects and major European entertainment productions. The score reinterprets works by classical composers including Johann Sebastian Bach, Claude Debussy, Giuseppe Verdi, and Erik Satie.
Performance formats vary depending on the schedule. From Wednesday to Saturday, the Chœur Live version features the vocal performances of the Chœur de Chambre Septentrion, directed by Christophe Gaultier, Mélodie Delannoy, or Pascale Diéval. On selected weekends, the LUMINISCENCE orchestra joins the choir under the direction of conductor Pierre-Alexis Touzeau to deliver the orchestrated soundscape.
Global Tour Context and Local Impact in Lille
The return of Luminiscence to Lille follows an international tour and an initial run that established the project’s commercial and cultural footprint.
