Liverpool Football Club announced record revenues of £703 million ($950 million) for the 2024-25 season, a campaign culminating in their Premier League title win. The financial results, released today, demonstrate significant growth across key revenue streams, driven by both on-pitch success and strategic commercial initiatives.

Commercial revenue spearheaded the increase, reaching £323 million – a £15 million rise compared to the previous year. This growth was fueled by a series of new sponsorship deals, including partnerships with Japan Airlines, Engelbert Strauss, Lucozade, and Husqvarna, alongside a renewed ten-year agreement with long-standing sponsor Carlsberg.

Media rights income also saw a substantial boost, climbing to £264 million, a year-on-year increase of £60 million. This surge is attributed to Liverpool’s participation in the UEFA Champions League, reaching the Round of 16, a step up from their UEFA Europa League involvement in the 2023-24 season. Matchday revenue contributed £116 million, benefiting from the expanded capacity of the Anfield Road stand.

Despite increased investment in the playing squad and management, including the appointment of new head coach Arne Slot, the club reported an operating profit of £8 million. This marks a significant turnaround from the £57 million pre-tax loss recorded in the 2023-24 season. Total administrative costs rose to £657 million, with staffing costs accounting for £428 million – a £42 million increase reflecting the new managerial team.

“We make no secret of our desire to run and operate a financially sustainable club, to grow revenue streams, and to do all You can off the pitch to help bring more success on it,” stated Liverpool chief financial officer Jenny Beacham. “The challenge for us is to continue with our growth through the incredible work that we do in areas such as our partnership portfolio and retail offerings, as well as continuing to diversify our focus to best serve our global fan base.”

Looking ahead to the 2025-26 season, Liverpool anticipates further commercial growth with the commencement of a new long-term kit supply agreement with Adidas. The deal is reportedly worth between £60 million and £70 million annually, a substantial increase from the previous partnership with Nike, which generated £30 million per year.

Liverpool’s revenue performance positions the club competitively within the Premier League’s financial elite. Arsenal recently announced revenues of £671 million for the 2024-25 campaign, while Manchester City reported £694.1 million for the same period. The club will be officially presented with the Premier League trophy on May 25th when they host Crystal Palace at Anfield.
