John Cena retired last month after losing to GUNTHER. It wasn’t just fans who were emotional. Several stars, including Liv Morgan, were also in tears.

Morgan spoke on “What’s Your Story” with Stephanie McMahon. She couldn’t watch teh retirement match live. She was flying back from Saudi Arabia after promoting the Royal Rumble.

“John Cena’s retirement, I bawled like a baby,” she said. “I was on the plane and missed it live. During my connection, Jet from makeup and Grayson Waller put it on an iPad.I was sitting on the floor watching, just sobbing. I didn’t know what was going on!”

Morgan loved how Cena’s final match ended – with him submitting to GUNTHER. She saw two possible meanings in Cena’s subtle smile while tapping out.

“I thought it was perfect, I really did,” Morgan explained. “If I wasn’t crying at John Cena, I was crying at the crowd’s belief that he’d pull it off… You could look at his face a couple different ways. Was he smiling as it was the end and he was gracious to let it go? Or was he being a little cheeky, like he could’ve won, but he gave it to GUNTHER because his time was up.”
