Lira Returns: Singer Announces Stage Comeback After 6 Years

March 25, 2026 Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor Entertainment

South African singer Lira will return to the stage on April 18, 2026, with a solo performance titled “Still Here” at the Lyric Theatre in Gold Reef City, Johannesburg. The performance marks her first return to live performance in six years, following a stroke in 2022.

The show is described as more than a concert, but a celebration of healing, courage, and the power of music, according to both Lira and event organizers. “Still Here. More than a concert — We see a celebration of healing, courage, and the transformative power of music. Music has been such a vital part of my recovery, and this show is a reflection of that journey,” Lira shared on Instagram.

Tickets for “Still Here” range in price from R375 to R550 and are available through Webtickets. The performance is an intimate solo show accompanied by her band, offering audiences a “powerful journey through music and movement.”

Prior to the Johannesburg performance, Lira is scheduled to perform in Durban at Chris Saunders Park on March 29, 2026. She expressed her excitement about this performance, calling it her first time performing at the venue.

The return to the stage follows a period of recovery for the artist. Lira recently celebrated her birthday and her late mother’s birthday, expressing gratitude and reflecting on the past year. She shared on social media, “Looking back at the year that was, I feel so grateful. I have truly been blessed.”

Other events scheduled around the same time include the Pretoria Soul Meets Gospel Picnic on May 2, 2026, the Now Now Festival 2026 on May 9, 2026, the Bassline Fest on May 23, 2026, and the Sjava 10 Year Celebration Tour in Pretoria on June 15, 2026.
